Climate change is a an ever-pressing issue for the world and while there are a lot of people who try their best to be as green as possible, the vast majority of people don’t know how to be. The objective was to create an app that takes a lot of the pressure of being green off the average person. The solution was “Vida”, which means “life” in Spanish. The reason “life” was chosen as the name of the app is because by becoming more green, we are able to save the life on this planet. Vida helps the users locate the nearest public recycling bin, the nearest public transportation, the nearest green grocery store or restaurant and presents climate facts and news to the user. Vida also gives quick recycling instructions that are easy to follow. Vida promotes the idea that the little changes matter in any endeavor, even something as big as climate change.
